Job Overview
This customer-facing technical role in the Quality Assurance Organization supports qualcomm’s automotive customers in Europe, focusing on Qualcomm Snapdragon, Modem, and 5G technology. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing customer quality issue resolution across development, mass production, and field returns.
- Collaborating with automotive customers and internal engineering teams to address quality concerns and returns.
- Providing timely updates to customers on the status of quality issues or requests.
- Working closely with Customer Engineering / Applications teams to assess new product introductions and relay feedback to the Qualcomm quality organization.
- Supporting customers through Qualcomm APQP processes (including documentation, risk assessments).
- Balancing advocacy—actively representing both customers and Qualcomm interests in customer interactions.
- Aligning with global Qualcomm teams to ensure consistent quality issue resolution and implement global CQE strategies.
- Engaging with local Sales, Customer Service, and Engineering teams to promote Qualcomm PCN adoption.
- Conducting surveys for quality KPIs and business reviews with key customers.
- Intelligently sharing customer insights (regional requirements, standards, risks, and opportunities) with Qualcomm leadership.

Customer & Technical Support
- Handle Automotive customers’ quality concerns from development to post-production.
- Work with customers (and offshore facilities) to resolve returns, faults, and compliance issues.
Process & Collaboration
- Support Qualcomm’s APQP process (from documentation upfront risk assessment) for new product rollouts.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, sales, customer service) to preserve brand integrity while supporting customer needs.
Proactive Quality & Market Insights
- Adhere to global Qualcomm quality protocols, including aligning local quality efforts with global strategies.
- Monitor industry trends, share findings, and advocate for compliance with Qualcomm’s requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, combined with 2+ years of Quality Engineering or related experience.
- A Master’s degree in the same fields, with 1+ year of relevant experience.
- A PhD in an eligible technical discipline.
OR
- Alternative qualifications may be considered if the candidate demonstrates the necessary competencies and abilities to fulfill the role.
Key Qualifications
Core Technical Knowledge/Experience
- Degree in physics, electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of automotive products/industry experience, working in a customer-facing capacity.
- Understanding of:
- Semiconductor processes (wafer fabrication, assembly, test).
- Diagnostic equipment (oscilloscope, curve trace, CSAM).
- Electrically induced Physical Damage (EIPD) and its industry impact.
- 8D methodology and related tools for problem-solving.

Desired Advanced Experience
- 5+ years in the automotive industry, specialising in customer-facing quality roles.
- Expertise in European Automotive OEM/Tier-1 quality standards, including:
- PPAP, APQP, and IATF 16949.
- Familiarity with quality tools and reliability assessments.
- CMOS manufacturing, process decomposition, and assembly methods knowledge.
- Digital & mixed-signal test protocols.
- Hands-on experience with IC diagnostics and construction methodologies.
Soft Skill Essentials
- Excellent communication (written/spoken English) with persistence in customer relating.
- Confidence in managing difficult conversations.
- Highly flexible, agile problem-solving abilities to drive resolutions.
- Strong ability to analyse, collaborate, and deliver solutions promptly.
