About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists within the Customer Relations and Business Support Team at County Supplies.

Company Overview

County Supplies serves as the procurement specialist for common-use goods across Hampshire County Council, schools, and local authorities. Key strengths include:

As a hybrid role, you’ll primarily work from offices in Winchester with one-two days per week at home.

Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Sales Outreach

    • Proactively dial existing and potential customers to promote products, highlight deals, and upsell/cross-sell.
  • Customer Relations

    • Handle phone/email enquiries and complaints with professionalism—ensuring retention.
  • Business Support

    • Administrative tasks (data entry, order processing, report generation).
    • Manage customer accounts, invoices, and debt recovery.
    • Support County Supplies Online (stock management, content edits).
  • Problem-Solving

    • Resolve issues like stock checks or arranging returns/credits.
  • Communication

    • Bridge between customers, logistics, buying teams, and other Hampshire departments.
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Contribute to enhancing customer experiences.

Requirements

To succeed, you’ll need:

  • A confident telephone manner and passion for customer interaction.
  • (Desirable) Practical sales or telesales experience.
  • Strong data entry skills and proficient in Microsoft O365 (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
  • Excellent literacy/numeracy.

Technical requirements:

  • Experience with SAP (plus) and web shop administration.
  • Familiarity with warehousing/distribution (advantage).
