Customer Service Advisor
Metering Services Technician
Location: Newcastle (Office based, Monday to Saturday between 4pm–8pm)
About the Role
At M Group Energy, we support the UK with essential infrastructure, including electricity distribution, renewable energy, metering, and home decarbonisation. We’re seeking an enthusiastic candidate to join our Metering team—the leading provider of metering services in the UK retail sector.
Metering technicians install, maintain, and manage gas, electricity, and water meters to ensure accurate billing, monitor energy usage, and enhance customer experience. This role requires reliability, a problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to safety-first, client-centric service in a respectful, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
- Promote a positive attitude, professionalism, and reliability through clear attendance and commitment
- Work 40 hours a week with flexible shifts (4pm–8pm, Mon–Sat)
- Manage tasks within department KPIs for efficiency and accuracy
- Investigate and problem-solve meter-related issues
- Liaise with multiple teams and suppliers (including Morrison Data Services)
- Ensure optimal metering services to meet customer and business needs

Requirements
We are looking for someone with the following qualities and skills:
Essential:
- Excellent customer service skills with a willingness to go above and beyond for customers
- Strong verbal and listening communication for inbound/outbound calls
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic ability to thrive in an challenges
- Well-organised with a clear ability to prioritise tasks
- IT literate with computer skills for record-keeping and software use
- Committed to adhering to KPIs for performance consistency
Desired (but not mandatory):
- Previous experience in metering, utilities, or field services
