Customer Service Apprentice

Location: ReFood, Doncaster

Business: The ReFood AD plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a variety of food wastes to produce biogas, renewable electricity, heat, and ReGrow (a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms). The plants also recycle the food waste packaging providing an environmentally sustainable solution for all waste producers looking for a safe method of diverting food waste from landfill.

The Position

Applications are invited for an Apprentice in our Customer Service based at our ReFood, Doncaster site. This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week.

As an Apprentice in Customer Service, your duties and responsibilities will be varied in support of the existing team and will include developing skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to enquiries via telephone, email, and post.
  • Support the Customer Service, Commercial, and Logistics teams with a range of administrative tasks.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate customer records and updating customer databases.
  • Support the management of customer accounts while developing an understanding of customer account administration.
  • Support the processing and reconciliation of CA1 documentation.
  • Assist with producing customer reports, KPI reports, and other business information.
  • Help maintain marketing materials and website content as required.
  • Complete supplier compliance questionnaires with guidance from the team and assist with ongoing compliance administration.
  • Assist with responding to customer enquiries, complaints, and service issues under supervision.
  • Build positive working relationships with customers, colleagues, and other departments.
  • Provide administrative support to the sales team and assist with sales-related activities.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Undertake training and development activities to build knowledge, skills, and experience within the role.

We will support you as part of a structured Apprenticeship programme where you will attain a Level 3 Business Administration qualification on a day release basis.

The Person

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good written and oral presentation skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to embrace new challenges.

Salary: Apprentice rates depending on age
