About Appleby Westward
Appleby Westward is the SPAR Wholesaler and Retailer covering the West of England.
Our Retail Distribution Centre and Support Offices are based in Saltash, Cornwall, where we employ around 2,000 colleagues. These colleagues support our wholesale distribution operations for both our independent retail estate and company-owned retail stores, as well as work within our SPAR network.
Our SPAR retail stores specialise in providing the following to communities across Chichester, Land’s End, Bristol, and Salisbury:
- Convenience goods
- Groceries
- Chilled foods
- Food-to-go
- Essential local services including Post Office services, lottery, and online collection & delivery services at select locations
We take pride in serving our communities while delivering efficient, high-quality customer service. Additionally, we contribute significantly to local charity and community support, particularly through fundraising for Marie Curie and other regional organisations.
About Maiden Newton
Maiden Newton offers both its historic charm and scenic countryside beauty. The local SPAR shop on Dorchester Road acts as a community hub, offering:

The Customer Service Assistant Role
