About Appleby Westward

Appleby Westward is the Wholesaler and Retailer specialising in the West of England under the SPAR brand.

Our operations span:

  • A Retail Distribution Centre and Support Offices in Saltash, Cornwall
  • Over 2,000 colleagues supporting both independent retail and company-owned stores
  • A network from Chichester to Land’s End, Bristol, and Salisbury

Your Responsibilities

  • Warm Welcomes: Deliver exceptional customer service with pride—listen, assist, and engage proactively.
  • Store Standards: Keep operations running smoothly through diligence and obedience to policies.
  • Customer Delight:
    • Share product knowledge and keep up with promotions.
    • Craft appealing displays to enhance the customer journey.
  • Transaction Accuracy: Ensure precision in sales processing (cash handling, inventory security).
  • Stock Management: Own responsibilities in reception, stocking, and presentation within assigned area.
  • Cleanliness & Compliance:
    • Maintain a posh, appealing store environment.
    • Commit to legal food health/safety standards, allergen labelling, and Age-Related Sales compliance.
  • Health & Safety: Commit to workplace safety protocols for staff and customers.
