Customer Service Assistant (Nights) – Newcastle
Hourly Rate: £13.45
Contract: Permanent, 27 hours per week
Working Hours: 3 nights on, 4 nights off, 9pm – 6am
About the Role
Vita Student are launching four brand-new residences across the UK & Spain, providing students with a wider choice of high-quality accommodation including Premium UK and European student living.
Based in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Newcastle and Madrid, Vita Student creates contemporary, all-inclusive environments with studio rooms, communal hub spaces, dedicated study areas, and a fully-equipped 24/7 gym. With a strong focus on support, community and wellbeing, these residences deliver the luxury living experience students aspire to.
To ensure residents receive the best possible service, Vita Student is expanding its team to include Customer Service Assistants, responsible for creating a home-from-home experience while maintaining the highest standards of site and facility upkeep.
The Role
This night shift position requires a customer-focused professional who can provide exceptional service, uphold premium living standards, and address any issues that arise during overnight operations.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House & Guest Services
- Welcome and assist students and guests with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude
- Answer all enquiries, providing clear information on amenities, policies, and local attractions
- Resolve queries proactively to ensure a seamless and positive experience

Facility & Site Maintenance
- Clean and maintain communal areas to the highest standard during both busy and quiet periods
- Conduct block walks every 4-6 hours, surveying and reporting on building conditions
- Replenish supplies (e.g., coffee beans, tea, milk) and normal vending machine inventory
- Manage parcels correctly to ensure easy resident access when needed
Safety & Emergency Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for any potential incidents or emergencies during night shifts
- Ensure waste management areas comply with health & safety regulations
- Address hazards (e.g., spills, damages) promptly by clearing, cleaning, or tidying as required
About You
Professional Experience
We are looking for an experienced customer service professional with:
- A strong track record in providing premium customer experiences
- An understanding of cleaning and maintenance for high-traffic communal spaces
- Familiarity with operational systems, software, or tech solutions used in customer-facing roles
Personal Characteristics
- Communication: Exceptional oral written skills in English (multi-lingual an advantage)
- Adaptability: Ability to handle different cultural backgrounds with respect and inclusivity
- Leadership: Strong organisation, problem-solving, and calm under pressure abilities
- Flexibility: Willing to cover evenings, nights, and extended periods of standing/repetitive tasks, including weekends and public/religious holidays (prior accommodation will be considered)
