Customer Service Assistant (Nights) – Edinburgh
Hourly Rate: £13.45 Contract: Permanent (40 hours per week) Working Hours: 4 nights on / 4 nights off (9 pm – 7 am)
About Vitas and the Role
We are launching four brand-new residences across the UK (Edinburgh, Birmingham, Newcastle) and Spain (Madrid), setting a new benchmark for premium student living. These developments feature:

This position is part of our initiative to build a brand-new team of Customer Service Assistants, ensuring our residents enjoy a luxury, home-from-home experience while keeping our premium facilities immaculately maintained.
Key Responsibilities
In this Night-Time Customer Service Assistant role, you’ll:
Customer Service & Engagement
- Provide exceptional, personalised service to residents:
- Offer local attraction information and handle enquiries to create a seamless, positive experience
- Be the front of house/reception – greet and welcome students/guests with a warm and vibrant attitude
- Deliver prompt, professional solutions to emerging issues and challenges
- Be the primary emergency contact in case of incidents/on-site emergencies

Premium Site & Facilities Maintenance
- Nightly cleaning: Ensure communal areas are spotless during both peaks (student activity) and quiet periods
- Conduct 4–6-hour block walks, reporting areas that need attention
- Replenish refreshments (coffee beans, tea, milk, vending machine stock)
- Secure parcel handling – manage and store deliveries efficiently for resident access
Waste Management & Health & Safety
- Maintain waste areas to health & safety standards
- Identify, address, and tidy hazards as needed
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Proven customer service professional with experience in premium settings
- Hands-on, proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety (Note: Cleaning is a significant part of this role)
- Technologically astute – comfortable with various systems and software
Personal Attributes
- Thrives in a multi-cultural, inclusive environment – embraces diversity and equality
- Excellent communication skills (English is the primary language; multi-lingual skills are a plus)
- Strong organisation, leadership, and calm under pressure
- Adaptable, creative, and positive with resilience to navigate unforeseen challenges
- Must be physically capable of:
- Extended standing
- Repetitive movements
