Customer Service Assistant – Old Queen Street Media

An exciting opportunity for a bright and confident Customer Service Assistant has arisen at Old Queen Street Media (publishers of UnHerd, The Spectator, and Apollo magazines).

About the Role

You will be required to carry out day-to-day customer service functions, including:

  • Responding to subscriber enquiries
  • Moderating the website’s comments section and social media channels
  • Handling shop and merchandise orders

The primary function of the role is to receive and handle incoming customer queries across all three brands (primarily via email and telephone) and ensure fast, effective resolutions.

You will join a close-knit team and have the option of hybrid working. As a naturally cheerful, outgoing, proactive individual, you must be confident, able to prioritise, and juggle multiple tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day incoming customer/subscriber enquiries
  • Perform comment moderation on unherd.com and across social media platforms
  • Manage merchandise and shop order fulfilment
  • Assist with general office housekeeping
  • Liaise with subscriptions teams to ensure efficient processes

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience with various CMS platforms (desirable)
  • Strong active listening to understand and meet customer needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (fluent English)
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage workload prioritisation
  • Comfortable working multitasked and fast-paced, both independently and in a team
  • Analytical and methodical approach with high-level attention to detail
  • Experience with analytical tools (e.g., Google Analytics) would be beneficial
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A keen interest in politics and current affairs

Requirements

  • Experience in a customer service support role

  • Experience using customer service tools

  • Some remote weekend work when required
