We’re looking for friendly, reliable, and passionate individuals to join our Customer Services Assistant team (**Contracted to 24 hours/week, **50.2 week year) in a fast-paced catering environment where friendly service makes all the difference.
About the Role
As a Customer Services Assistant at Defence (by ESS, part of Compass Group UK&I), you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences across high-profile sites, including military establishments, secure government facilities, and energy sector operations. Your enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to service are what matter most—previous experience in catering is a plus, but passion is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Presentation
- Prepare delicious, high-quality meals that delight clients and customers
- Create visually appealing food displays and counter arrangements
- Customer Engagement & Service
- Represent Defence brand image with professionalism and positivity
- Provide outstanding customer service, handling inquiries with enthusiasm
- Operational Tasks
- Manage cash transactions and operate registers accurately
- Maintain cleanliness in workspaces and dining areas
- Compliance & Safety
- Uphold strict Food Handling & Hygiene standards
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations
