Customer Service Associate – Healthcare Logistics

Marken is a subsidiary of UPS Healthcare, specialising in healthcare and secure logistics. We support clients in the clinical trials and advanced therapies sector, combining cutting-edge logistics with healthcare expertise.

About the Role

Joining Marken, UPS Healthcare Precision Logistics, you’ll work in a Fortune Global 500 organisation, fostering innovation and building rewarding careers through teambased growth and skill development. We seek individuals with the skill, passion, and drive to lead or collaborate on key logistics projects.

In this Customer Service Associate role, you will provide operational support and exceptional customer service, focusing on shipment management, documentary compliance, and client communication in a monographic and logistical environment.

Location

Alexandra House, 21 Clifton Hall Road, Edinburgh, EH28 8PW

Hours & Availability

  • Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
  • Weekend and bank holiday shifts required, along with flexible working patterns

Essential Requirements

  • Superb fluent proficiency in both Czech and English (written and spoken)
  • Graduation equivalent to a UK High School Diploma, GED, or international equivalent
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Booking & processing requests: Work within Marken’s digital systems to handle bookings and shipment documentation
  • Operational oversight: Daily monitoring of shipments to ensure collection and delivery within agreed deadlines
  • Client relationships: Continuously develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Coordinate with shipper teams, ensuring timelines are adhered to and they are proactively updated
  • Cross-departmental collaboration: Liaise with Global and Domestic Marken networks, agencies, and local service providers to meet logistical demands and timeframes
  • Manage clinical trial sites by entering them into the internal Marken database
  • Comprehensive communication: Handles telephone, email, and in-person correspondence, resolving inquiries efficiently
  • Project documentation: Prepare, review, and distribute country-specific project documents
  • Participate in customer meetings and teleconferences where required

Required Qualifications & Skills

Core Competencies

  • ** technician proficiency** in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and persuasive—adaptive to various stakeholders
  • Ability to solve problems while prioritising effectively under pressure
  • Excellent team collaboration with self-motivation and initiative
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Familiarity with aviation logistics networks highly advantageous
