The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining existing customer accounts, processing orders, supporting the wider sales function, and helping to ensure a smooth day-to-day operation within the department. You will also provide support to the Internal Sales / Customer Service Supervisor and assist with mentoring and guidance across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers via telephone and email
  • Process sales orders, customer enquiries, complaints, and general administration tasks
  • Communicate sales opportunities to the Business Development Team
  • Liaise with internal departments including Product Control, Transport, Repro, Technical, and External Sales to meet customer requirements
  • Support the mentoring and training of new and existing team members
  • Assist with the smooth running of the department and deputise for the Supervisor when required
  • Monitor customer stock levels and help prevent shortages or redundant stock
  • Support continuous improvement of internal sales systems and procedures
  • Ensure company standards relating to Health & Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Environmental, and Equal Opportunities policies are maintained

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in customer service, internal sales, or account management preferred
  • Excellent communication and administration skills
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Experience using office systems and handling customer orders
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently when required
  • Monday - Friday
