Purpose of the Role
The Customer Service Operative (Security) will provide a secured and clean environment for both customers and staff alike. The role mainly involves security duties with some cleaning required.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- To undertake regular patrols of the Centre as instructed by Management.
- To carry out all duties in accordance with instructions issued by Management.
- To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the centre.
- To ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with.
- To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Centre are complied with at all times.
- To open and close the Centre (e.g. Act as key holder).
- Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Incident Log.
- Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully, to the centre procedures for contractor management.
- Escort contractors when required.
- Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
- Assist with enquiries from members of the public, if and when required.
- Liaise with tenants and the Police in all matters of security affecting the centre, tenants, public safety and security.
- Report any faults or breakages to management.
- Deal with all ad hoc general enquiries and office administration and help build the relationship between tenants, contractors and centre management.
- To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.

Cleaning Duties
- To assist during shift dropped or blown out.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times.
- Perform entire mall sweeps.
- Remove all food and liquid spillages immediately.
- Check, clean & tidy public toilets every 30 mins.
- Report to management, stock needed and replenish stocks when instructed to do so (e.g. soap & toilet paper).
- Litter pick.
- Sweep service roads & outer areas.
- Clean tiled areas with scrubber dryer or mop.
- Clean Management Suite daily.
- Dust & cobweb removal.
- Clean & sanitize all fixtures & fittings and signage.
- Chewing gum, sticker & graffiti removal.
- General Hoovering.
- Waste removal & management.
- Assist in any other areas of cleaning when required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Good knowledge of security protocols.
- Good customer service focus.
- Ability to support team with task not listed but undertaken by all members of the team.
- Experience in the provision of cleaning services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
- Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
- Honest and reliable work ethic.
- Well presented.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work in both internal and external environments.
- Willingness to partake in further on-site training.
Desirable
- Basic Knowledge of H&S legislation.
- Flexible working approach to work patterns.
- Security Industry Authority (SIA) badge.
Working Hours
- Fixed Shifts (40 hours per week)
Salary
- £13.21/hr
