Customer Service Representative - New Entrant

Banking Representative - Hammersmith

As a Banking Representative, you will interact with our customers as the ‘face’ of Metro Bank, with a strong understanding of our products and services and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

What You Will Do

  • Provide customers with exceptional service, going above and beyond to understand their needs
  • Prioritise tasks against fluctuating customer demand and ensure store objectives are met
  • Stay updated with regulatory and non-regulatory training to ensure compliance and fairness in all transactions
  • Take ownership of risks in banking operations and ensure best practices are applied for customers, colleagues, and Metro Bank

Working Arrangements & Training

Store Hours: Metro Bank Hammersmith operates from Monday to Friday. Current role requires full-time hours of 37.5 hours/week over 5 days.

Typical shifts:

  • 8:45am - 5:15pm OR 9am - 5:30pm
  • Where applicable, reasonable occasional Saturday work may be required
  • In such cases, we will provide a day off in the workweek and support reasonable travel costs

Training: We offer a structured approach with:

  • Live team sessions guided by trained mentors
  • Access to online training suite for self-study
  • On-the-job training, including observation, buddy systems, and serving customers
  • Training paced collaboratively between you and your manager

Requirements

  • Ability to build effective customer relationships in a fast-paced environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail under pressure
  • Strong grasp of risk management implications for both customers and Metro Bank
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Prior banking/finance experience is advantageous but not mandatory; however, experience with customer service queries and operation in controlled-process environments is essential
