Customer Service Fitting Assistant

About the Role

Love all things motoring and cycling? Showcase your passion and customer-focused personality in this dynamic role at Halfords. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic about vehicles, with great people skills and a drive to deliver market-leading service.

Experience isn’t required—training is provided to get you the skills you need (e.g., car parts fitting, cycle repair, and even technology installations). If you’ve dabbled in mechanics or bike repairs as a hobby, even better—but if not, we’ll take you from the beginning.

You’ll be working hands-on with customers, helping them with everything from car service fitting and cycle assembly to troubleshooting issues. Your role will combine practical tasks and service excellence, making sure every customer leaves happy and satisfied.

We’re excited about the future of motoring—as the UK’s leading retailer of cycling and vehicle products and services, we’re driving innovation, especially in electric mobility. Join us and take ownership of your career while making a difference.

Wage:

  • Age 21+: £13.34 per hour
  • Under 21: £11.48 per hour

Responsibilities

During the role, you’ll:

  • Deliver high-skill fitting services, including:
    • Car part installation and technology fitting
    • Cycle building and servicing
    • Diagnosing and problem-solving general mechanics queries
  • Offer customer-focused advice on products both in-store and on-site
  • Help customers with their vehicles, whether at our car park facility or in-store
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain retail standards of presentation and service

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
