Customer Services Specialist

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service & Shipment Coordination

  • Monitor inbound and outbound shipments daily to ensure compliance with scheduled delivery times
  • Advise customers on service-related issues, including:
    • Customs detentions
    • Estimated times of arrival (ETA) for flights or trucks
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships through daily collaboration

Operational Problem-Solving & Logistical Support

  • Analyse repetitive operational issues and propose potential service enhancements
  • Guide customers on:
    • Latest booking times
    • Required documentation for shipments
  • Book shipments using the Marken Booking System

Interdepartmental & Partnership Development

  • Support cross-functional teams within Marken—including:
    • Customer Relationship Management
    • Transport & Operations
    • Sales
  • Supply customers with up-to-date Marken Service Information
  • Provide sales teams with potential customer leads
  • Foster partnerships with customers by understanding:
    • Their industry-specific requirements
    • Their logistical complexities

Customer-Centric & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Meetings: Participate in scheduled discussions to address service performance and concerns
  • Relationship Building: Form alignments with stakeholders in the customer’s organisation
  • Extensive Collaboration:
    • With customer representatives
    • Across local/regional aviation and operational networks
    • In Marken London’s Operations/Logistics divisions

Core Qualifications

✔ In-depth knowledge of aviation/airline networks ✔ Strong communication skills, capable of influencing others ✔ Excellent problem-solving and prioritisation abilities—essential ✔ Adherence to company policies and procedures

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility in managing workload, including:
    • Varied working hours
    • Weekend coverage as required
  • Ability to carry out additional duties as directed
