About The Role
You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable and resilient network solutions for BT's enterprise customers. Acting as a technical specialist, you'll take ownership of complex network designs, ensuring they align with customer requirements, industry best practice and BT's strategic network architecture.
You'll work closely with customers, architects, project teams and bid specialists to develop innovative network solutions that enable digital transformation, improve application performance and strengthen security. This is a highly visible customer-facing role, combining technical expertise with consultative engagement and design leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and deliver end-to-end network solutions with a focus on Fortinet Secure SD-WAN technologies.
- Own complex network designs from requirements gathering through to implementation and handover.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, translating business and operational requirements into scalable network solutions.
- Support customer workshops, technical design reviews, bids and pre-sales activities.
- Collaborate with architects, security specialists and delivery teams to ensure successful customer outcomes.
- Review network designs and provide governance to ensure compliance with BT standards and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of network design frameworks, standards and reusable solution patterns.
- Mentor colleagues and share technical expertise across the wider design community.

Essential Skills / Experience
- Experience designing enterprise networks, including Fortinet Secure SD-WAN solutions in complex customer environments.
- End-to-end solution design expertise, covering WAN, LAN, routing, switching, security and network resilience.
- Ability to engage with customers and senior stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical network designs.
- Technical leadership and design governance experience, including design reviews, mentoring and best-practice development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience supporting workshops, proposals and customer-facing technical discussions.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Fortinet certifications (NSE, FCF, FCSS or equivalent).
- Experience with SASE, Zero Trust and cloud networking architectures.
- Knowledge of public cloud networking (AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud).
- Understanding of network automation, orchestration and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with secure access technologies, firewalls and network security design.
- Knowledge of MPLS, Internet WAN, SD-WAN migration and network transformation programmes.
- Experience shaping network strategy, standards and future-state architectures.
