About the Role
Our Customer Success Architect (CSA) program is designed to align, enable, and expand customer success. In this high-impact position, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to key customers, leveraging deep expertise in GitLab’s platform to drive tangible business outcomes while maintaining long-term relationships and implementing strategic growth initiatives.
Gilts will focus on creative problem-solving, consultative partnerships, and technical enablement, ensuring customers not only adopt GitLab’s platform but also derive tangible business value from it.
What You’ll Do
As a Customer Success Architect, your responsibilities will include:
Partnership & Value Delivery
- Collaborate with customers to translate post-sales command plans into actionable business outcomes
- Serve as a GitLab-native technical advisor, guiding customers through best practices, use cases, and best-practice implementations
- Support in strategic business planning to ensure alignment with customer goals and vision
Engagement & Customer Journey
- Ensure continuity and alignment between pre- and post-sales while addressing customer challenges and optimizing migration success
- Upgrade and mature customer success based on evolving business and technology requirements
- Guide customers through the GitLab Customer Journey, from first interactions to adoption maturity
Technical & Operational Leadership
- Own a Book of Business (BoB) of top accounts, focusing on adoption, retention and growth
- Keep current on GitLab's feature set and securely share customer feedback and insights into sales, product, and engineering teams
- Drive adoption, engagement, and acceleration of technical teams, assisting with training, onboarding, and adoption strategies (e.g., tutorials, enablement, UX, and GitLab guides)
- Escalate cases to support teams and define impactful actions, ensuring accountability

Business Growth & Customer-Led Vision
- Work with assigned customers to establish roadmaps and measureable outcomes via Customer Success Plans and the PracticeSpace
- Identify relevant new features, pilots, and Customer Success initiatives in collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Delivery, and demand generation teams
Business Contribution
- Source and facilitate experiences, networking, and workshops with enterprise customers and the GitLab community
- Contribute to best of breed configuration, know-how, enablement kits, refresher guides, and CI/CD best practices
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
Technical Proficiency
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with:
- Git (branching/modeling strategies)
- SDLC and CI/CD workflows (’intelligent orchestration’)
- Concurrent Integrations & Deployments, challenges and skills in managing concurrent environments
- DevSecOps concepts, though not pre-requisite in experience alone
- Logical, analytical, research, and problem-solving mindset
Customer Success Experience
- Proven track record of improving customer adoption, satisfaction and retention
- Post-sales, Tech-enabled Commercial or Professional Services experience preferred
- Experience defining and achieving customer outcomes
- Familiarity with enterprise environments and segmentation skilling:
- At least two years of commercial experience in Customers management with companies spending Greater than $20k /annually on software
