Commercial Account Manager (Heat Pump Industry Focus) – Spruce

About Spruce

Almost 20% of the UK’s carbon emissions come from heating homes. To reach net zero, gas and oil boilers must phase out—and heat pumps are the only serious alternative. With their ability to generate 3–5kW of heat from 1kW of electricity, they offer a transformative solution—but only if installation is fast, efficient, and painless.

Right now, the process is slow, inefficient, and fragmented, making it difficult for installers to grow their businesses and deterring gas engineers from switching to heat pumps. Spruce fixes this.

We built a platform that manages the entire heat pump installation journey—from enquiry to compliance—freeing installers to focus on what matters: high-quality installations, customer success, and scaling their businesses.

What we’ve achieved in just over a year:

  • 600+ customers, with near-zero marketing spend
  • Halving installation time, boosting installer productivity
  • Doubling sales conversion rates, improving revenue per job
  • Working with suppliers, manufacturers, and installation businesses across the UK

We’ve raised a substantial seed round, met explosive demand, and are now scaling rapidly—and soon expanding beyond heat pumps to become the operating system for the whole home renewables industry.

The Role

You’ll operate at the heart of our commercial engine, working closely with Esme, Jamie, Rob, Ashley, and Hector to:

  • Drive expansion & revenue growth – Unlock massive untapped value in our existing customer base by increasing adoption, growing accounts, and helping installers maximise their business potential. A large portion of our growth will come directly from your efforts.
  • Become the most trusted installation partner – Build deep, long-term relationships with hundreds of heat pump installers across the UK. Be the first person they reach out to when they want to scale, optimize, or troubleshoot—and the first to identify opportunities for product improvements before their competitors.
  • Own world-class onboarding – Ensure every new installer hits the ground running with Spruce by creating an impeccable onboarding experience. Their success becomes your priority—quick ROI from day one for their teams.
  • Voice of the customer (internal) – Shape product roadmaps, feature prioritisation, and technical decisions based on real installer feedback. Your insights will directly influence how we build and refine the platform to meet their needs.
  • Build scalable systems & playbooks – Continuously automate and improve self-service resources (FAQs, tutorials, guide), implement LLM-powered agents, create training content, and collaborate with developers and designers to embed on-platform learning—all while working smarter, not harder.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
