As part of Detection and Measurement, Enterprise Control Systems (ECS) is a leading supplier of long range data links that support real time high resolution video transfer between air and ground users. In creating products like RF inhibitors and specialized equipment for military and security purposes, we protect ground forces and infrastructure around the world.
How You Will Make An Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Customer Support Engineer - International, you will provide support to a wide range of customers and projects to meet the company’s business objectives. This customer-facing role requires a good communicator who can apply their skills to completing the task on time.
What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Site survey including (UK & worldwide) Which includes fixed, mobile and ship locations.
- Ordering and packing installation Materials for shipment
- Logistics - arrange shipping and Customs paperwork.
- 2nd line repair (within workshop in factory)
- Technical publications (system manuals and White papers)
- Factory Acceptance Testing (UK & worldwide)
- Site maintenance (UK & worldwide)
- Installation and commissioning of Datalink systems, Network Monitoring and Network Voting systems (UK & worldwide)
- Commissioning of air to ground links (worldwide)
- Customer Trials, including writing trial plans (UK & worldwide)
- Support for Customer Demos (UK and worldwide)
- Writing and deliver training courses on all ECS equipment (UK & worldwide)
- Customer Requirements capture for Sales (UK & worldwide)

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- Proven experience managing technical operations and customer-facing contracts, ideally in communications or defence sectors
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external contractors
- Deep understanding of downlink communication systems and field operations, including installations, commissioning, and maintenance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, across phone, email, and presentations
- Ability to tailor technical explanations to suit diverse audiences, from end-users to senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated customer-focused mindset, with a proactive approach to service delivery and relationship building
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff and foster a culture of accountability and growth
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and reporting
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond effectively to changing priorities and field conditions
- Effective time management and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering results under pressure
- Skilled in record-keeping and compliance, particularly in regulated environments such as MOD and Police contracts
- Experience in training delivery and technical documentation, supporting knowledge transfer and operational consistency

Travel & Working Environment
Approximately 50% of the role is site-based, supporting customer operations across various locations; the remaining 50% is split between office-based work and remote working. Flexibility is essential to accommodate varying schedules, travel demands, and field conditions across different environments.
