Customer Support Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer

AI System Testing Specialist – Part-Time, Project-Based Opportunities

Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies. These roles focus on testing, evaluating, and refining human-AI interactions in financial and customer service scenarios. Participation is time-bound and non-permanent—no fixed employment contract.


About the Opportunity

Mentors pioneers will be tasked with designing, refining, and evaluating AI-driven customer service interactions, ensuring responsiveness, accuracy, and user trust. Below are the core areas of engagement:

This role involves dynamic, project-based tasks with unique challenges:

  • Scenario Design & Evaluation

    • Craft and review fee inquiry and statement clarification scenarios.
      • Verify fee accuracy against disclosed schedules.
      • Distinguish between legitimate descriptor-mapping inquiries and fraudulent claims.
    • Develop autopay and payment setup scenarios incorporating subtle errors.
      • Incorrect payee details, emulated insufficient-funds refusals, wrong draft execution dates, or missing confirmation steps.
  • Fraud & Complaints Assessment

    • Build card replacement and fraud claim scenarios.
      • Test AI’s handling of urgeny in fraud detection, recognition of suspicious signals, effective intake information capture, and proper escalation.
    • Author account closure scenarios to assess business logic.
      • Evaluate retention-offer eligibility, frozen transactions, and refusal logic.

  • Response Quality & Tone Meta-Reviews

    • Grade conversational responses against benchmarks in accuracy and tone.
      • Assess empathy and pressure adaptability in crisis situations.

Ideal Background:

✔ Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Psychology, Marketing, or related fields (optional but beneficial).

✔ 2+ years of experience in a role directly involving customer interaction, including:

  • Financial and banking advisory
  • Email or live-chat centric roles
  • Transactional dispute resolution
  • QA (if subsequently aligned with conversation design)

✔ Ability to translate policy documents/fee schedules/layered guidelines into clear, situationally accurate guidance for users—with a strong sideswipe for identifying which rule applies.

“Helpful reading: Is this a case of friendly miscommunication or potential fraud?”

✔ Familiarity with:

  • Qualified Analyst methodologies
  • Call Center Training structures
  • AI Conversation Design principles

Desired Skills

Compensation

Contributions today reflect a rate up to $60/hour equivalent, depending on:

  • Assignment complexity
  • Contributor experience
  • Pace of task completion

Note: Hourly pricing varies per project; determined post-designation by Mindrift specialists and client terms.
