Customer Team Leader

Customer Team Leader

Location: 5 Rothersthorpe Road, Far Cotton, Northampton, NN4 8JA

Pay: £14.48 per hour Contract:

  • 20 hours per week, permanent (part-time)
  • Regular overtime available

Working Pattern: Closing shifts from mid-afternoon through to late evening, with flexible availability across the week, including:

  • Friday after 6pm
  • Any Saturday shift
  • Any Sunday shift Availability discussed further at interview.

About the Role

Join us as a Customer Team Leader and take the next step toward managing your own store.

As a Customer Team Leader, you’ll lead a small team in a fast-paced Co-op store, helping deliver essential services to your community. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the post office, bakery, or coordinating with the online delivery team.
  • Hands-on work on the shop floor and at tills. Whatever the day brings, your role is pivotal in making life easier for customers, driving Co-op’s mission.

Why This Role Matters

You’ll ensure our shelves stay stocked, provide excellent customer service, and champion Co-op membership and community initiatives. Your efforts directly impact the local economy, charity partnerships, and the vibrancy of the Co-op community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, delegating tasks and leading the team during shifts.
  • Motivate, coach, and support the Customer Team in delivering outstanding service and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute hands-on to retail operations (stock handling, merchandising, tills).
  • Maintain merchandising standards, stock accuracy, and HR processes to improve performance.
  • Advocate for Co-op through community engagement and membership growth.

Requirements

A mix of passion, adaptability, and an attitude to lead will serve you well. Minimum essential skills:

  • A passion for people leadership and serving the community.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience (optional but valuable) in retail, merchandising, or team coordination.
