Customer Team Member (Location: Market Square, Petworth, GU28 0HA)
Role & Location
- Join the friendly team at Co-op, delivering exceptional customer service in our local store.
- Work in retail, post office, bakery, or order picking/packing for home deliveries.
Contract & Pay
- £13.04 per hour
- 12 hours per week (permanent, part-time)
- Regular overtime، closing shifts from mid-afternoon to 10pm
- Flexible shifts including weekend commitments (Fridays after 6pm, selected Saturdays/Sundays)
- Full, paid training provided – no prior experience needed

- Ensuring till operations, stock accuracy, and product safety
- Representing the Co-op brand as a motion face in the community
- Supporting local and national charities and promoting Co-op membership
- Making shopping easier by resolving issues and keeping the store running smoothly
Responsibilities
Customer Service & Operations
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service
- Assist consultations, queries, and complaints with a thoughtful approach
- Work shop floor to back-office tasks, including:
- Stocking shelves, checking prices/dates, accounting for stock accuracy
- Ensuring food safety (e.g. temperatures, use-by dates)
- Handling till operations efficiently

Requirements & Qualities
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A genuine passion for customer service and helping others
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends
- Show passion for retail or customer-facing roles (experience not essential)
- Reliability and teamwork—this is a fast-paced, team-oriented job
