Customer Team Member

Location: Former The Ship Inn, Whitemans Green, Cuckfield, RH17 5BY

Pay: £13.04 per hour

Contract: 16 hours per week + regular overtime Permanent contract Part-time

Working Pattern: A mix of opening, closing, and mid-day shifts, with flexibility across the week, including:

  • At least 2 evening shifts: Either Friday after 6pm or any shift on Saturday
  • 1 weekend shift: Sunday We’re happy to discuss your availability further at interview.

About the Role

We’re looking for Customer Team Members to join our team at Co-op, playing a key role in delivering friendly, helpful service in your local store.

As a Customer Team Member, you’ll work as part of a friendly team in a fast-moving Co-op store, helping to deliver essential services to your community daily. Your role may include:

  • Working in the post office or bakery
  • Supporting online services by picking and packing orders for home delivery

Whatever the day brings, you’ll be instrumental in making life easier for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly and thoughtful service to ensure customers feel valued and issues are resolved
  • Work alongside your team to keep the store running smoothly and efficiently
  • Shop floor and till operations, contributing to daily operations for the best shopping experience
  • Maintain store performance by:
    • Keeping shelves stocked
    • Checking prices, dates, and stock accuracy
    • Ensuring storage safety and legal compliance (e.g., temperatures, product freshness)
  • Promote Co-op Membership and engage with your local community

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for helping people and providing exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple shifts and as part of a team
  • An interest in retail (no prior experience necessary)
