Customer Team Member 📍 Location: 43-45 High Street, Steyning, BN44 3RE
Role Overview
A 12-hour part-time, permanent position at Co-op, supporting friendly, helpful customer service in a local shop. Tasks include shop assistance, post office operations, bakery work, packing orders, and stocking shelves across varying shifts—including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and flexible hours.
Key Details:
- Pay: £13.04 per hour
- Shift pattern: Opening as early as 5am, closing up to 11pm, with at least 2 evening shifts and 1 weekend shift (Friday after 6pm, Saturday/Sunday). Overtime regular.
- Training: Fully paid
- Eligibility: Must be 18+ for potential early/late shifts.

Your Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly and efficient service, resolving issues and creating a welcoming shopping experience.
- Assist in stock management, price checking, temperature monitoring, and shelf updates.
- Handle till operations while maintaining a safe, legal retail environment.
- Support the store post office, bakery (if applicable), or online order processing/packing for home delivery.
- Promote Co-op Membership and enhance local charities connections.
Requirements
- Must be 18+ (due to shift timing).
- No strict prior retail experience required—just enthusiasm for community service.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
