Pay & Contract
- £13.04 per hour
- 12 hours per week + regular overtime
- Permanent, part-time contract
Working Pattern
Flexible and varied shifts including:
- Early mornings (opening at 6am)
- Afternoons
- Late evenings (closing at 11pm)
- At least 1 weekend shift per month Task includes working in our in-store bakery

About the Role
Co-op is seeking Customer Team Members to strengthen our team in Hove. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service, supporting till operations, restocking shelves, and ensuring a clean, well-organised store.
Our mission is to make things fairer for our customers and communities. As a member of our team, you’ll contribute to this ethos by:
- Supporting customer needs thoughtfully and efficiently
- Collaborating with colleagues to streamline operations
- Maintaining store legality and safety, including accurate pricing, date checks, and temperature regulation
Responsibilities
As a Customer Team Member, you’ll:
- Provide friendly, thoughtful, and first-rate service, prioritising the customer experience.
- Champion Co-op products and membership benefits while fostering positive relationships with shoppers.
- Ensure our in-store bakery operates seamlessly.
- Stock shelves, resolve spillages, and maintain a tidy, inviting environment.
- Partner in problem-solving and process improvements, sharing feedback with colleagues.
- Help introduce new products and services with ease, ensuring a cohesive, welcoming experience across our store.
- Engage with local community events and initiatives.

Requirements
- Must be aged 18 or over.
- The ability to work shifts outside usual working hours (including before 6am or after 10pm, weekends).
- A warm attitude and ** Constructive approach** to challenges.
- Flexibility to accommodate a mix of shifts.
- Suitable for individuals who enjoy customer-focused roles with retail experience welcome but not essential.
