Customer Team Member
Location: Spital Lane, Chesterfield, S41 0HL
Pay: £13.04 per hour
Contract: 12-hour week + regular overtime, 3-month temporary contract, part-time
Working pattern: A mix of opening/closing and mid-day shifts with flexibility across the week, including:
- At least 2 evening shifts (Friday after 6pm, or any daytime shift on weekends)
- 1 weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) Availability discussed during interview

About the Role
We’re looking for Customer Team Members to join our friendly team at Co-op, where you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional, community-focused services. You could work in the post office, bakery, or online order picking/packing—each day brings new opportunities to make shopping easier and more pleasant for customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining stock levels and store presentation
- Supporting sales with a helpful, approachable approach
- Building community connections while promoting Co-op Membership

Why this role matters:
- Help customers find products efficiently
- Contribute to store performance and safety (shelf stocking, price/temperature checks, etc.)
- Strengthen the local cooperation with charity partnerships
Responsibilities
- Deliver customer service with care – assist customers and resolve any issues
- Collaborate to run a smooth shop – teamwork in fast-paced retail (tills, floor duties)
- Ensure accuracy and compliance – stock levels, price accuracy, hygiene/temperature checks
- Promote Co-op Membership – raise awareness about customer benefits
- Support community efforts – volunteer for local/national charity initiatives on-site
Requirements
As a Customer Team Member, bring:
- A genuine passion for helping others and delivering outstanding customer service
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts (mornings, evenings, weekends)
- An interest in retail or a fast-paced environment (no prior experience needed)
