Cyber and Information Security Manager – NHS Forth Valley

NHS Forth Valley is recruiting a Cyber and Information Security Manager. We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills to head up the Cyber and Information Security Team and drive cyber and information security forward throughout the organisation. Key Responsibilities

Based within the Information Governance Unit, the Cyber and Information Security Manager will:

  • Lead and advise on Cyber / Information Security Technical Controls, Procedures, and Standards
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of NHS Forth Valley’s Information Security Management System, ensuring compliance with the Networks and Information Systems Regulation 2018 (NIS)
  • Act as the NIS Audit Manager and as a key member of the Cyber Incident Response Team, ensuring incident response plans remain effective and up-to-date
  • Lead the development and implementation of NHS Forth Valley’s Information Security Policies and Information Governance Framework
  • Assess cyber security technical controls, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (including local Digital teams and partner organisations), and provide expert specialist cybersecurity advice to all staff
  • Deputise for the Head of Information Governance as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading cyber and information security teams
  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude, particularly in NIS compliance and incident response
  • Excellent Presentation, negotiation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff across varying degrees of technical understanding
  • A flexible approach to work, including the ability to travel throughout the area of service delivery, where necessary

Additional Requirements

  • Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check required for postholder

Location, Working Hours & Benefits

  • Location: Based within NHS Forth Valley’s Information Governance Unit
  • Working Hours: As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours per week, with part-time hours reduced pro-rata. There will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate to ensure no impact on pay.
  • Sponsorship Policy: Certificate of Sponsorship may be offered for eligible applicants, provided the post meets visa requirements. Information on visa criteria and sponsorship is available via UK Government guidance.
