The Opportunity

As a Cyber Risk Specialist, you'll join our Nuclear Services business – our technical centre of excellence, which supports our fleet of nuclear power stations and our nuclear new-build projects.

You'll join us on a salary starting from £57,000 per annum. This is a hybrid role based in either our Gloucester or Glasgow office, with a blend of office and home working.

Your expertise will help us play a key role in the transition towards An Electric Britain by supporting cyber security risk management activities across our nuclear licensees. You'll work closely with cyber specialists, risk owners and stakeholders to maintain a clear understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities and mitigations across critical infrastructure.

Your work will support some of the UK's most important energy infrastructure, helping us maintain strong cyber resilience across our nuclear operations. You'll be supported to develop your knowledge of information assurance, Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC), Operational Technology (OT) Security, cyber risk management and regulatory frameworks while contributing to work of national significance.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Cyber Risk Specialist who can analyse complex cyber risk information and apply recognised security frameworks within regulated environments. Are you experienced in…?

  • Working with cyber security risk management frameworks and methodologies such as ISO 27005 or NIST
  • Assessing cyber security threats, vulnerabilities and risks within complex environments
  • Applying information security frameworks such as ISO 27000, NIST CSF or the HMG Security Policy Framework
  • Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent professional and practical experience

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC), which will, ordinarily, require you to have British residency for the last five years.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the Cyber Risk Manager in assessing, tracking and managing cyber risks across nuclear licensees
  • Analysing cyber threats, vulnerabilities and mitigation activities relating to information, IT and operational technology systems
  • Producing cyber risk reports, metrics and management information for governance forums and stakeholders
  • Supporting cyber risk governance activities, including risk forums and committee processes
  • Working with stakeholders across the business to help ensure cyber risks are understood, monitored and appropriately managed
