About The Role
The Senior Cyber Analyst/Vulnerability Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of cybersecurity within a specialized Civil Service Organization. This hybrid position based in Cardiff involves leading the vulnerability management lifecycle across cloud environments, applications, and endpoints. As a key member of the cybersecurity team, you will contribute to safeguarding critical infrastructure by proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to embed security best practices into daily operations, supporting the organization’s mission to maintain a resilient and secure digital environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a cybersecurity analyst or in a similar role within a mid to large-sized organization. Essential qualifications include hands-on experience with vulnerability management, threat assessment, and security incident triage. Candidates should possess practical knowledge of security tools such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Secure Score, and Sentinel. Relevant security certifications such as CISMP, Security+, Azure security certifications, ISO 27001 qualifications, or equivalent demonstrated experience are highly desirable. A strong understanding of cloud security principles, network infrastructure, and application security is also essential.

Responsibilities
- Lead the vulnerability management lifecycle across cloud workloads, endpoints, and applications, ensuring timely assessment, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Support security operations by reviewing security alerts, triaging incidents, and escalating issues as necessary to ensure swift response and resolution.
- Develop and maintain secure configuration baselines for cloud services, endpoints, and network infrastructure, aligning with industry standards such as CIS benchmarks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to promote security awareness and integrate security considerations into operational processes.
- Conduct cyber risk assessments and work with senior colleagues to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and control gaps.
- Assist in developing security policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the organization’s overall security posture.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry developments to proactively defend organizational assets.
