About The Role
We are supporting a leading technology organization in the search for a Cyber Security Analyst to join its Security Operations team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a fast-paced cybersecurity environment where protecting critical infrastructure and enterprise systems is paramount. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for proactive monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis across cloud-based and on-premise environments. Working within a 24/7 operational security function, you will play a vital role in identifying, investigating, and responding to security threats, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of organizational data and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity operations, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to threat mitigation.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience. A minimum of three years’ experience in cybersecurity, security operations, threat analysis, or security monitoring is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience investigating security incidents within a Security Operations Centre environment, with a solid understanding of incident response processes, security event triage, and escalation procedures. Strong knowledge of networking protocols, authentication mechanisms, and common attack techniques is required. Familiarity with securing and supporting Windows and Linux environments, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills, is also essential. Industry certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent cybersecurity qualifications are desirable, along with experience working with SIEM platforms and security monitoring technologies. Knowledge of Oracle and virtualized environments will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security events, alerts, and incidents across enterprise networks and systems to identify potential threats.
- Manage security cases and tickets through to resolution, ensuring timely and effective responses.
- Analyze logs and data from SIEM platforms, security monitoring tools, network infrastructure, and endpoint technologies to detect malicious activity.
- Investigate and triage security alerts to identify attack methods, techniques, and malicious actors.
- Follow established incident response and escalation procedures to contain and mitigate security risks.
- Ensure all incidents are accurately documented, including indicators of compromise, evidence, and investigation findings.
- Identify false positives and provide feedback to improve detection capabilities and reduce noise.
- Support the development and optimization of security monitoring rules and processes to enhance threat detection.
- Analyze security data sets to identify gaps and recommend improvements to security posture.
