The Role
We’re looking for a Cyber Security Analyst – Tier 1 to join our Security Operations Centre (SOC) team.
The role involves monitoring and responding to cybersecurity incidents, analyzing threats, and contributing to strengthening security posture for our customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with a strong foundation in cybersecurity principles, networking, and threat detection who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Daily Responsibilities
- Use SIEM tools (e.g., QRadar, Azure Sentinel, Elastic SIEM) to monitor and analyze security alerts, triage incidents, and investigate breaches.
- Handle and escalate security incidents effectively, ensuring swift resolution with minimal impact.
- Address security-related queries, escalate critical issues, and provide expert guidance to customers.
- Maintain clear records of incidents, actions taken, and resolutions, aligning with company protocols.
- Assist in tuning security measures, developing use cases, and enhancing detection capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to improve security protocols and incident response.
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, new attack techniques, and industry best practices.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure security requirements are understood and properly implemented.

Requirements
- Experience in cybersecurity principles, attack detection, incident response, and security frameworks.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls) and threat intelligence models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to convey complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles and hybrid cloud environments.
- Proactive approach to staying updated on trends, new threats, and best practices.
- Previous experience in a SOC or cybersecurity support role.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards like GDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
- Hands-on experience with:
- SIEM technologies (e.g., QRadar, Azure Sentinel, Elastic SIEM)
- Endpoint security, IAM, and data protection best practices
- Windows and Linux-based operating systems
- Security clearance must be obtained (due to role sensitivity).
- Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass a basic DBS check.

Key Notes
- Shift Pattern: 24/7/365 coverage with rotating shifts (5 days on, 3/4 days off, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays).
- Location: Must be within commuting distance of our Glasgow office (hybrid: 3 days in-office).
- Occasional travel expected for industry events and other company offices.
