Cyber Security Apprenticeship Coach
Location: Home-Based, UK
Your Role
You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring a group of learners working toward the successful and timely achievement of their apprenticeship programme.
Your Specialist Experience
We require the following specialist experience and skills:
- Industry experience supporting the relevant learner programme
- Strong written communication skills due to data recording and management requirements
- Motivational coaching abilities with a focus on adherence to strict deadlines
- Recent industry experience in an information/cyber security role, including:
- Designing, deploying, and administering networks
- Experience with security software and hardware tools
- Installing, configuring, deploying, managing, securing, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux clients and servers
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Office 365)
- Expertise in networking and operating systems
- Basic hardware setup and configuration
Key Responsibilities
Coaching and Support
- Deliver excellent learning experiences and coach learners in smaller organisations and corporate environments
- Collaborate with Digital Learning Advisors (DLCs) and Learning Specialists to bridge classroom and online learning
- Ensure learners achieve their apprenticeship programme on time, in partnership with Quality Assurance Consultants
- Provide clear, detailed written feedback on learning activities and off-the-job obligation adherence
- Employ a many-to-many coaching approach, leveraging technology to deliver cohort-wide support
- Engage employers and learners for progress updates and realistic progression planning

1-on-1 Coaching
- Conduct remote reviews and provide constructive feedback on learner evidence
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures
- Hold regular remote meetings with employers, policy personnel, and mentors
- Provide guidance across various modules, aligning learning with job roles
- Use proactive online communication to diagnose and address learner gaps
Internal Collaboration
- Document and report accurate management and performance data
- Maintain Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- Assist with internal and external projects
- Identify and develop business opportunities with managerial support
Your Experience
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Self-motivation with a customer-centric approach
- Ability to diagnose learner needs and adapt coaching remotely
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills
- Experience in management and remote intervention
- Skilled in delivering constructive and motivational feedback
- Detail-oriented with strong administrative ability
- Independent time management and prioritisation
- Ability to work from the QA office base 2 days per month
