Cyber Security Consultant

Location: London City (Hybrid, 2 Days Per-Week On Site)

Salary: Up to £50k plus benefits

Talentedge Technology have partnered with a well-renowned Advisory firm to hire a Cyber Security Consultant. This hire is part of the expansion of their Cybersecurity consulting offering. We're seeking someone with around 3 years of experience in delivering and supporting cyber security assessments, audits and control evaluations. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and client-focused, with a strong interest in continuous learning and improving security outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver cyber security and information security engagements, including risk assessments, security reviews, audits, and control evaluations.
  • Assess security risks and control effectiveness, identifying vulnerabilities and providing clear, practical recommendations to improve security maturity.
  • Produce high-quality client deliverables, including audit reports, risk assessments, gap analyses, and advisory documentation.
  • Advise clients on designing and enhancing security controls aligned with recognised frameworks and standards, including:
    • ISO 27001
    • NIST Cyber Security Framework
    • CIS Controls
    • Cyber Essentials
    • GDPR
  • Work closely with both technical and business stakeholders to implement proportionate security improvements.
  • Stay current with emerging cyber threats, regulatory developments, and industry best practice.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of internal methodologies, tools, and service offerings.
  • Build long-term client relationships by delivering a high standard of service and trusted security advice.
  • Support business development activities through proposal writing, project scoping, technical presentations, workshops, webinars, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across risk, technology, and compliance disciplines to deliver integrated client solutions.

About You

We're looking for an experienced cyber security professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent consulting and communication skills. You should be comfortable engaging directly with clients, managing multiple projects, and translating complex security concepts into practical business recommendations.

You enjoy working in a fast-paced consulting environment, are naturally curious, and have a genuine passion for helping organisations strengthen their cyber resilience.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in cyber security consulting, information security, IT audit, or technology risk advisory.
  • Proven experience delivering client-facing cyber security engagements.
  • Strong understanding of recognised security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, Cyber Essentials, NCSC guidance, and GDPR.
  • Experience conducting security assessments, audits, control reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing engagements independently while working effectively within project teams.
  • Comfortable working with organisations ranging from SMEs to large enterprise businesses.
  • Experience supporting or auditing certification programmes such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or Cyber Essentials.

Desirable Skills

  • Professional certifications such as:
    • CISSP
    • CISM
    • CISA
    • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer
  • Exposure to penetration testing or vulnerability assessments.
  • Knowledge of cloud security across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft 365.
  • Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) environments and associated security standards.
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms, security monitoring, automation, and modern cyber security technologies.
  • Previous hands-on experience within IT infrastructure, systems engineering, network security, secure architecture, or implementing technical security controls.
