About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to play a pivotal role in driving security transformation within a large, complex, and highly regulated environment.
In this role, you will operate at the intersection of cyber strategy, risk management, and organisational delivery. You will provide expert guidance across an evolving digital landscape, engaging with diverse stakeholders to ensure that cyber resilience is embedded across the business. This is a high-impact position requiring a solutions-focused mindset to navigate regulatory pressures, emerging technologies, and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory: Act as an internal cyber advisor, ensuring projects and initiatives align with cyber strategy and business objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for colleagues across the organisation, providing expert guidance and facilitating engagement with relevant teams.
- Policy & Standards: Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of cyber security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Project Oversight: Provide oversight across project portfolios, ensuring planned activity is on track and highlighting risks or misalignment.
- Horizon Scanning: Monitor new technologies (e.g., AI), regulatory changes, and emerging threats to brief leadership on potential impacts.
- Assurance: Support assurance assignments to evidence compliance with cyber strategy and regulatory obligations.
- Professional Development: Participate in the establishment of a cyber profession within the business, collaborating with HR and Learning & Development teams.
- Incident Support: Assist senior leadership with incident management activities when required.

What We Are Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in cyber security and information assurance within a large, complex environment.
- Sound understanding of cyber security frameworks, risk management, and assurance practices.
- Familiarity with key regulatory and legislative frameworks.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience contributing to cyber security transformation programmes.

Desirable Skills:
- Experience working in the nuclear sector or other highly regulated industries.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor).
- Experience in cyber security programme or change management.
- Familiarity with incident response and reporting in a regulated setting.
- Experience with project assurance and business engagement.

Please note that this role may require the successful candidate to undergo and maintain security clearance (e.g., SC or DV). Candidates must be willing and eligible to meet these requirements.
