Cyber Security Consultant (GRC)

Location: UK Wide (hybrid, with travel to client sites) Role: Full Time, Permanent Salary: Between £65,000 and £100,000 (DOE) Clearance: Active SC/DV clearance required

F5 are proud to partner with one of the UK’s largest Technology Consultancies, an award-winning business facilitating cybersecurity projects for major organisations across the country.

Due to a surge in demand, our partner is rapidly expanding its Cyber Security Consulting team, specifically in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and is seeking highly experienced Cyber Security Consultants to join.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years as a Cyber Governance Consultant, with recent, relevant public sector experience (e.g. MoD, Home Office).
  • Proven track record in Cloud Security project delivery within government or highly regulated environments.
  • Strong hands-on delivery experience in pre-sales & post-sales cybersecurity consulting.

Core Expertise

  • Gap analysis, threat modelling, and security control alignment.
  • Data protection compliance (e.g. GDPR, UK Data Protection Act).
  • Third-party risk assessment and audits.
  • Secure solution design & implementation across contemporary frameworks:
    • ISO 27001
    • NIS/NIS2 (UK Critical Infrastructure)
    • NIST Cybersecurity Framework
    • TISAX
    • DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act)
    • NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF)
    • IEC 62443 ( Industrial control systems security )

  • Strategic & operational GRC consulting: Balancing security, risk, usability, and compliance in business decision-making.
  • Ability to develop business cases, compliance roadmaps, and cybersecurity strategies tailored to regulatory requirements and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to define, implement, and continuously improve GRC frameworks and cyber risk management programmes.
  • Lead audits, assessments, and compliance evaluations in both IT and operational environments.
  • Align security strategy with business goals, ensuring practical, actionable solutions.
  • Work with Cloud Security and hybrid infrastructure teams to implement compliance-ready secure architectures.
  • Engage in stakeholder management, bridging technical and non-technical audiences (e.g. exec boards, legal, procurement).

Requirements

Security Clearance: ✅ Active Security Clearance (SC or DV) strictly enforced. UK national required due to client obligations.
