Cyber Security Operations Engineer
£400 per day | Hybrid London | Immediate Start
We're working with an established cyber security consultancy delivering services into a major UK retail organisation.
They require a hands-on Cyber Security Operations Engineer to join urgently and support a growing security function that needs additional expertise across multiple security platforms and operational processes.
This is a broad security operations role that would suit someone who enjoys working across endpoint security, identity management, SIEM, cloud security and incident response rather than focusing on a single technology area.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and administer CrowdStrike endpoint security.
- Manage and improve Wazuh SIEM monitoring and alerting.
- Support identity and access management across Okta, Duo and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Work closely with an outsourced SOC provider.
- Assist with threat detection, investigation and incident response activities.
- Manage and optimise Mimecast and Abnormal Security email security controls.
- Support cloud security initiatives using Lacework.
- Maintain vulnerability management processes through ThreatAware.
- Deliver and support security awareness initiatives through KnowBe4.
- Work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the retail customer environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
