Cyber Security Engineer (Secure by Design)
London | Hybrid
£400 per day (Inside IR35) | Guaranteed Permanent Conversion to £85,000
We're partnering with a leading global financial institution to hire a Cyber Security Engineer into its growing Secure by Design team. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity, offering an initial £400/day Inside IR35 with a guaranteed move into a permanent role paying £85,000.
Hybrid Working: 4 days per week in the London office during the contract period, reducing to 3 days per week upon permanent conversion.
You'll work across major application launches and technology transformation projects, embedding security throughout the delivery lifecycle and ensuring solutions are secure by design from concept through to production.

What You'll Do
- Embed Secure by Design principles across application and infrastructure projects.
- Review and challenge application, cloud and network architectures.
- Conduct threat modelling and security design reviews.
- Implement and validate security controls across the SDLC.
- Partner with Engineering, Architecture and DevOps teams to deliver secure solutions.
- Drive best practices across Identity & Access Management, data protection, network security, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management and incident response.
- Ensure alignment with security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and CIS Controls.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in Cyber Security Engineering, Security Architecture or Application Security.
- Strong understanding of Secure by Design and secure application delivery.
- Knowledge of cloud security (Azure, AWS or GCP), DevSecOps and threat modelling.
- Experience implementing security controls and influencing technical design.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
