Location: Belfast (office-based)
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience)
Employment Type: Permanent
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK security clearance

The Role
We are seeking Mid-Level Cyber Security Incident Response Consultants to join our growing incident response team in Belfast.
The role requires office-based attendance, so candidates must relocate and be incompatible with fully remote working.
Ideal candidates are cyber security professionals with existing experience looking to specialise in incident response while progressing within a consultancy environment.

About You
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and operating systems
- Advanced knowledge of common attack techniques
- Hands-on experience using security tooling:
- SIEM (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar)
- EDR (CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint)
- IDS/IPS
- Firewall technologies
Skills & Experience
- Forensic expertise across Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms
- In-depth knowledge of malware analysis, including ransomware and phishing detection/response
- Methodical, analytical approach to troubleshooting and investigation
- Ability to stay composed and effective under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience & Clearance
- 3–5 years of cyber security experience, with exposure to incident response or SOC environments
- Eligibility for UK security clearance
Professional Qualifications & Development
Preferable Certifications
Certified professionals should hold one or more of the following:

Incident response/forensics:
- GCIH, GCFA, GCIA, GNFA, GCFR

Detection & defensive:
- CySA+, BTL2

Cloud security (advantageous):
- AWS/Azure security-focused

Commitment to continuous professional development in incident response
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Coordinate cyber incident response activities based on established frameworks
- Technical investigations:
- Analyse logs, endpoint telemetry, and network data
- Identify malicious activity and understand attacker behaviour
- Assist with containment, eradication, and recovery activities, advising clients on technical actions
- Conduct forensic investigations and post-incident reviews:
- Determine root cause, scope of compromise, and business impact
- Stakeholder engagement with clients, managed service providers, and communications teams
- Prepare clear incident documentation:
- Technical findings, timelines, executive reports
- Contribute to improving incident response playbooks, tooling, and investigative techniques
- Leverage threat intelligence to enhance investigations and strengthen future detection/response
- Support proactive security consulting:
- Incident response exercises
- Client briefings
- Industry events
