Cybersecurity Intern (Remote)

About the Role
We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Cybersecurity Intern role. This is an excellent opportunity for students, recent graduates, and aspiring cybersecurity professionals to gain hands-on experience by working alongside experienced security professionals on real-world cybersecurity initiatives.
As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will support day-to-day security operations, assist in identifying potential security risks, conduct research on emerging threats, and contribute to various cybersecurity projects. This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to build practical experience and establish a strong foundation in cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring security events and identifying potential threats.
- Support vulnerability assessments and basic security testing activities.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, and mitigation strategies.
- Assist in documenting security findings, reports, and technical documentation.
- Participate in incident response activities under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support security awareness and compliance initiatives.
- Work with industry-standard cybersecurity tools and technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security-related tasks and projects.

Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Freshers are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, or cybersecurity concepts will have an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
- A genuine interest in cybersecurity and information security.

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Awareness of cybersecurity concepts such as firewalls, phishing, malware, authentication, and access control.
- Exposure to tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite, or similar security tools is a plus.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell is an added advantage.
