Cyber Operations Lead
Join a growing managed services provider helping organisations stay secure in an increasingly complex threat landscape. This leadership role is all about driving high-performing cyber operations, developing a talented team, and ensuring clients receive exceptional security services around the clock.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and develop a team of Cyber Security Engineers and Analysts through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of a 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) service.
- Oversee security monitoring, threat detection, incident response and continuous service improvements.
- Act as the senior escalation point for major cyber security incidents, managing communications and post-incident reviews.
- Drive vulnerability management activities across multiple managed client environments.
- Manage and optimise security tooling, endpoint protection platforms and response playbooks.
- Lead the operational management of a Zero Trust security platform, including onboarding, policy management and ongoing optimisation.
- Produce client-facing reports, operational KPIs and service performance updates.
- Work closely with consulting, infrastructure and service delivery teams to ensure seamless cyber security operations.
- Support compliance initiatives by providing operational evidence for recognised security standards.
- Introduce AI-driven efficiencies into SOC processes to improve detection, triage and reporting capabilities.
- Manage team capacity, shift planning and on-call rotas to maintain high service standards.

Main Skills Needed:
- Extensive experience leading Cyber Security Operations within an MSP, MSSP or multi-client environment.
- Strong background in SOC operations, SIEM platforms and incident response.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing technical teams.
- Expertise across vulnerability management, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and security operations tooling.
- Strong understanding of network security, identity and access management, and monitoring platforms.
- Experience working with Zero Trust or Secure Service Edge technologies, ideally Zscaler.
- Knowledge of cloud security across Azure, AWS or GCP environments.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and wider compliance frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and client management skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft SC-200 and incident response qualifications, with additional cyber security certifications highly desirable.
