Job Title: Privileged Access Management (PAM) Security Engineer

Location: Livingston
Salary: Competitive

A leading technology and media organisation is looking for a Privileged Access Management (PAM) Security Engineer to strengthen its cyber security capabilities across enterprise platforms, products and customer-facing services. This is an opportunity to work within a specialist Cyber Security team, supporting the protection of critical systems and data used by millions of customers.

The role will focus on CyberArk, identity security, privileged access controls and security governance, working across multiple teams to improve security standards and embed best practice. You will have the opportunity to influence PAM strategy, deliver complex security projects and work with industry frameworks including NIST, NCSC, ISO27001 and CIS.

Privileged Access Management (PAM) Security Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and manage Privileged Access Management solutions, ensuring secure access to critical systems and sensitive data.
  • Administer and configure CyberArk environments, including credential management workflows and privileged account controls.
  • Monitor PAM activity, investigate alerts and identify potential security risks or policy breaches.
  • Conduct audits, assessments and evidence gathering to support compliance requirements.
  • Work with internal teams and stakeholders to improve identity security baselines across the organisation.
  • Develop security recommendations aligned to industry standards including NIST, NCSC and ISO27001.
  • Support threat modelling, vulnerability assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to wider cyber security teams.

Privileged Access Management (PAM) Security Engineer Requirements

  • CyberArk Certified Defender level or above.
  • Strong recent experience administering and configuring CyberArk and Azure Active Directory / Entra ID.
  • Experience with Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platforms, ideally One Identity.
  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash or similar technologies.
  • Good understanding of authentication protocols, access controls and identity lifecycle management.
  • Experience working with security frameworks including ISO27001, NIST and CIS.
  • Knowledge of Web APIs including SOAP, REST and GraphQL.
  • Understanding of threat modelling methodologies such as STRIDE.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently on complex security projects.
