About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Analyst (SOC Analyst) to join our client's high-security Security Operations Centre (SOC) team. This role is pivotal in defending enterprise systems against cyber threats by providing real-time monitoring, detection, analysis, and response to security incidents. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing security alerts, investigating incidents, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a critical national infrastructure environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic, fast-paced setting, contributing to national security and organizational resilience.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience working as a SOC Analyst (Tier 2/3) within enterprise or critical infrastructure environments. Strong technical expertise with SIEM platforms such as ArcSight or similar tools is essential, including configuration and engineering support. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of networking, cloud environments, and enterprise IT infrastructure. Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as SANS, ISC2, or equivalent are highly desirable. A degree in Cyber Security, Computing, Engineering, or related disciplines will be advantageous. Familiarity with security frameworks, data protection laws including GDPR, and ITIL-based service environments is also required.

Responsibilities
- Monitor, investigate, and triage security events and alerts within a live SOC environment to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Analyze security incidents to determine their scope, impact, and priority, ensuring timely escalation and appropriate response measures are implemented.
- Manage end-to-end incident response activities, from initial detection through containment, eradication, and recovery processes.
- Support the development and continuous refinement of SIEM use cases, detection rules, analytics, and playbooks to enhance threat detection capabilities.
- Conduct real-time analysis of logs, network traffic, and security data to identify malicious activities, policy violations, or suspicious behaviors.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams, including network and system administrators, to support containment and remediation efforts during security incidents.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of SOC processes, tooling, and detection methodologies to adapt to evolving cyber threats.
- Assist in the preparation of security reports, documentation, and operational procedures to ensure compliance and effective communication across teams.
