We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist (UK-based, on-site in Manchester) to manage vulnerability and threat management, directly responding to the real-world stakes of protecting mission-critical software for emergency services. This security-first role covers both technical depth (research, incident response, patching) and hands-on office support, requiring independent decision-making as the local security presence.
What You’ll Handle
As our कeto Cybersecurity Specialist, here’s how a typical workweek shapes up:

Proactive Security Operations
- Run vulnerability scanning across internal systems, networks, and applications, prioritizing findings by risk and promoting threat-centric remediation workflows.
- Aggregate threat intelligence, translating it into actionable policy—identifying what to patch urgently, watch closely, or harden incrementally.
- Update enterprise-wide security configurations (SIEM antigens, endpoint profiles) ensuring elusive-to-moderate threats are contained and remediated before undue treatment becomes necessary.

Incident Response
- Lead real-time incident response for security alerts, coordinating with the global team through asynchronous + time-zone agnostic methods. Document post-incident reviews for continuous improvement.
- Serve periodically on on-call duty to address impacted, zero-hour incidents—adapting to each changing environment.

Gritty IT & Support
- Uphold on-site IT support for team members, troubleshooting hardware/OS breakdowns, user-access lifecycle management, and essential hardware deployment.
- Be the genial problem-solver colleagues seek help from across Windows/Linux environments, networking, and common office tools (M365, Show Мишька).

What You’ll Need
We are looking for: Hard but ethical cybersecurity-linkedows excellently versed in vulnerability remediation, operating at front lines of threat detection, with:
Aces
- 📄 5+ years in cybersecurity, ideally specialist focus on vulnerability/treat analysis, incident response, and support roles.
- Demonstrated security-decision making ability when remotely isolated yet trustworthy amongst global users.
- Confidence operating in a multi-hop threat landscape: from legacy workstations to cutting edge cloud-orchestrated applications.
Nimble Musts
- Deep knowledge of:
- Vulnerability scanners (experience with integrated application management scoring, like Tenable, Nessus).
- Endpoint detection (CrowdStrike, Sentinel) debugs + EDR deployments. SIEM (optional, but proactive).
- OS + networking (N+ like certs statement preferred warming).
- Basic readiness in UK cyber stability programs (Cyber Essentials would be meaningful, ISO 27001 a poss sim).
Clear riding skills
- Legal vetting readiness: Willingness to undergoes UK NPPV3 + Security Check (SC) with minimum 3 full years in-residence UK plus fluent understanding of right to work validation.
- Willingness for periodic global scope support on-call to align to IT/cyber time zones.
