About the Role
Customer Trust and Assurance
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer trust by ensuring highest data protection and privacy standards
- Communicate the organization’s commitment to cybersecurity and data protection transparently to customers
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to address questions and concerns about cybersecurity and data protection
- Monitor and respond to customer feedback regarding cybersecurity, driving improvements based on insights
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of third-party vendors to identify security risks

Controls Assurance and Compliance
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust cyber controls framework ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies
- Regularly review and test effectiveness of security controls to ensure they operate as intended
- Build on our existing continuous controls monitoring program to provide real-time visibility into control effectiveness
- Utilize automated tools and AI technologies to continuously monitor and assess the performance of cyber controls, addressing deficiencies
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
- Collaborate with organization-wide teams to identify security and privacy risk mitigation needs
- Partner with Legal, IT, and Engineering teams to implement technical controls
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership, the board of directors, and stakeholders on:
- Cyber risk status
- Control effectiveness
- Incident response activities
- Translate complex technical information into clear communication for non-technical audiences
Requirements
- Experience: 2-4 years dedicated to cyber risk management, control assurance, or governance domains (certifications like CISSP, CISM, CRISC are advantageous but not mandatory)
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of at least some of the following:
- NIST frameworks
- ISO 27001 standards
- PCI compliance
- GDPR
- Technical-Governance Fluency: Comfortability translating risk and control requirements into practical, scalable solutions that engineering teams can implement
- Leadership & Communication: Ability to convene discussions in high-risk situations and compel meaningful change
- Industry Preference: Prior experience in high-tech companies, specifically within cloud-native environments, is a plus
