About the Role
Join a qualified professional to enhance an established DBT Service within HPFT CYPMHS, an organisation short-listed for multiple awards. This opportunity provides the chance not only to deliver clinical work with young people experiencing complex mental health difficulties, but also to contribute to the ongoing development of a pioneering team.
The CYPMHS DBT Service supports young people across Hertfordshire struggling with emotion regulation and high-risk behaviours, equipping them with vital life skills and fostering lives worth living. You’ll join a passionate, collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional care for families in partnership with them.
No prior DBT training is required—just enthusiasm to learn a new therapeutic approach. Full training is provided through a national DBT programme, alongside continuous CPD to support career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical interventions:
- Conduct individual therapy
- Facilitate group skills training
- Provide telephone coaching
- Participate actively in the DBT Consultation Team

Provide specialist assessments/interventions:
- Work within a multi-disciplinary family therapy framework
- Support young people and families referred by other CYPMHS services
- Contribute to transition planning between services, ensuring seamless handover with Adult Services when appropriate

Clinical supervision & teamwork:
- Offer professional supervision to trainees, junior colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams

Service development & research:
- Participate in audit, evaluation, and research to enhance service delivery

Adherence to professional standards:
- Operate within established clinical and professional guidelines
- Function under the supervision of senior clinicians in your primary core profession
Requirements
- Qualified professional background (evaluated against the person specification provided)
- An enthusiastic, collaborative attitude
- Willingness to learn DBT under structured team support
- Commitment to professional growth through ongoing training & CPD
