Freelance / Contract – Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant
Location: Macclesfield (2–3 days onsite per week)
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6-12 months
We're looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement CE Functional Consultant to join a major enterprise CRM transformation programme with a leading organisation.
This is a hands-on functional consulting role, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to drive the successful delivery, transition, and optimisation of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business requirement gathering workshops across Customer Journeys, Customer Service, and Sales.
- Analyse existing CRM processes and identify functional improvements and solution opportunities.
- Document business requirements, functional specifications, and solution approaches.
- Support knowledge transfer, environment walkthroughs, and stakeholder onboarding.
- Review and validate customisations, integrations, reporting requirements, and security models.
- Collaborate with development teams during solution design, deployment, and issue resolution.
- Support UAT, regression testing, release planning, and go-live readiness.
- Ensure solutions align with change, release, and incident management processes.
- Provide ongoing functional guidance and process improvement recommendations to business users.

Required Experience:
- 8+ years' experience as a Dynamics 365 CE / CRM Functional Consultant.
- Strong functional expertise across:
- Dynamics 365 Customer Service
- Dynamics 365 Sales
- Dynamics 365 Customer Journeys
- Solid understanding of:
- Case Management
- SLAs, Entitlements, Queues and Routing
- Lead-to-Opportunity lifecycle
- Knowledge Base functionality
- Working knowledge of Plugins, Power Automate (Cloud Flows), and APIs.
- Experience documenting business processes and functional requirements.
- Ability to validate workflows, customisations, integrations, and reporting from a functional perspective.
- Experience supporting UAT, testing cycles, and production releases.
- Good understanding of CRM security roles, governance, audit, and compliance.

Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to Azure Functions.
- Experience with enterprise integration and middleware solutions.
- Knowledge of Splunk.
- Experience with Splunk ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks™ is advantageous.
