About the Team

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Daily Substitute Teacher at Riverside Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. We seek passionate educators dedicated to bringing curriculum to life, fostering student success, and nurturing both academic growth and social-emotional development in a positive classroom environment.

About the Opportunity

Daily Substitute Teacher – Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver daily lesson plans, modifying as needed during the school year.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet each student’s unique needs.
  • Track student progress and development with careful documentation.
  • Implement research-based best practices in planning and teaching.
  • Manage student behavior effectively in the classroom and around school.
  • Cultivate a responsive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Follow school-approved curriculum while adapting for diverse students (cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds).
  • Enforce school-wide culture expectations and norms.
  • Collaborate with families on student progress and social-emotional growth.
  • Integrate technology into classroom activities to enhance learning.
  • Participate in non-instructional activities as directed by the school.
  • Collaborate and communicate with colleagues.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

About You

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Ohio teaching license in an appropriate content area.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Education or related field).
  • High comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment, comfortable with frequent observations, feedback, and monitoring.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle & protect confidential student information.
  • Ability to supervise students across different settings (classroom, playground, cafeteria, etc.).
  • State and federal criminal background check (screening required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in an urban environment.
  • Strong understanding of social-emotional learning (SEL).
  • Passion for supporting diverse student needs.
