Daily Substitute Teacher at North Bend STEM Academy

About the Team

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Daily Substitute Teacher at North Bend STEM Academy, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for passionate and dedicated educators who can bring the curriculum to life and create a positive learning environment for every student. Our focus is on nurturing student learning and social-emotional development.


About the Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

The Daily Substitute Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and delivering lesson plans, with the flexibility to modify them as needed throughout the school year.
  • Differentiating instruction to ensure all students thrive, regardless of individual needs.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
  • Applying research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
  • Managing student behavior effectively in the classroom.
  • Creating a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters learning.
  • Adhering to school-approved curricula, ensuring instruction respects and reflects the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of students.
  • Implementing and reinforcing school-wide culture expectations and norms.
  • Communicating with families about their child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Incorporating technology skills into daily classroom instruction.
  • Participating in non-instructional activities when necessary.
  • Collaborating and communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

About You

We are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Active and current Ohio state teaching license (appropriate content area).
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment, including frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Experience supervising students in various settings (classroom, playground, cafeteria, etc.).
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Experience working in urban environments or similar settings.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic school environment.
