About The Role

The Telegraph is looking for a sharp, creative, and highly motivated Daily Video News Editor to join our fast-paced video desk.

This role is a high-energy, fast-turnaround role focused on speed, productivity, and sharp editorial judgment. You will be responsible for identifying the most compelling visual moments across News, Foreign, Global Health, and Lifestyle beats, clipping them into highly engaging short-form content for homepage and articles.

This role will work with multiple departments across the newsroom, focusing on enhancing articles on the site and app with strong 20s clips. Topics will range from reacting to breaking news, covering live events and feeding into liveblogs and working with video producers to pull out strong visuals for the online article to their longform video packages.

Key Responsibilities

Fast-Paced Video Editing & Creativity

  • Editing: Efficiently cut, edit, and optimise 20-second video clips using Adobe Premiere Pro for digital articles and onsite placement
  • Creative Execution: Use creative flair to make short-form clips grab viewers' attention on app and site. You will use graphics, montages, and highlights to ensure our onsite video elements are visually arresting and highly clickable
  • Maintain Momentum: Deliver high-quality visual assets rapidly to match the breaking news cycle

Sourcing & Researching

  • News Gathering: Constantly monitor news wires, agency feeds, and competitor platforms to ensure The Telegraph never misses strong video content
  • Editorial Judgement: Hunt for strong news lines and powerful visuals, flagging critical content to senior/breaking editors
  • Cross-Desk Collaboration: Pitch your sourced footage to other desks (Breaking News, Foreign, Lifestyle) to help commission fresh editorial pieces wrapped around strong video content

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
